What does $299 cover?

• A full custom website (homepage + about + services + contact pages, more if your shop needs them).
• First year of .com.au domain registration.
• Hosting and SSL for the first year.
• Two rounds of revisions before going live.
• The first 90 days of small content updates (text, photo, hours) at no charge.

Are there hidden fees?

No. $299 is the full launch price. After year one: domain renewal at-cost (~$15–$22 AUD/yr) and either a retainer or pay-per-change for ongoing updates.

Do you charge GST?

Not currently — we're under the GST threshold. If that changes, your renewal pricing will reflect it.

How long until my site is live?

5 business days from the moment you submit your intake form. Most shops are live in 2–4. See the full timeline.

Can you do it faster?

Sometimes. Email hello@weauto.org with what you need by when — we'll tell you honestly.

What if I'm slow to send content?

The 5-day clock pauses while we're waiting on you. We'll never just sit on it — we'll email you within 24 hours of any blocker.

I don't have professional photos. Will my site still look good?

Yes. We use high-quality stock photos that fit the auto industry as placeholders, then swap in your real photos as you take them. Most shops launch with stock and replace 2–3 over their first year.

Can you write the copy for me?

Yes. We pull the bones from your intake form — services, story, suburb — and write the rest. You'll review and tweak in the preview round.

Who owns the content and photos on the site?

You do. Anything you supply remains yours. Anything we write is yours under licence to use on the site we built. Stock photos are licensed via standard commercial licences and stay on the site as long as it's hosted.

I already have a domain. Can I use it?

Yes. You don't need to transfer it — just point its DNS at us. Step-by-step: DNS setup guide. Or read about full domain transfers if you want us to manage renewal.

Do you set up email (e.g. info@yourshop.com.au)?

We don't host email — for reliability and spam protection, we recommend Google Workspace ($8.40/user/month) or Microsoft 365. We'll set up the MX records on your domain so your email-of-choice works correctly. If you want us to do the Google Workspace setup, that's a $50 one-off.

What if my domain is on Crazy Domains / VentraIP / GoDaddy?

What if I want changes after the site is live?

The first 90 days: small text/photo/hours updates included. After that, two options: a monthly retainer or pay-per-change. See how to send updates.

Can I edit the site myself?

Currently, no — your site is built as static, hand-tuned code (which is why it loads fast and ranks well). All updates go through us, usually within 24 business hours. If you want a self-edit dashboard, ask — we can quote a CMS-backed version separately.

How do I request a change?

Email hello@weauto.org, or use the change-request form on your onboard page if your build is in progress. Details: updating photos, hours, services.

Do I own my website?

You own all your content (text, photos, business info). We retain ownership of the underlying code template — same model as Squarespace or Wix, where the platform is the company's and your data is yours.

What happens if I want to leave weauto?

Three things, all simple:

• Your .com.au domain transfers back to you (free, just request it).
• We export all your text and photos into a folder for you.
• We point the DNS wherever you tell us within 1 business day.

No exit fee, no holding the site hostage. We expect to keep customers because the work is good — not because we've trapped them.

What happens if you (weauto) shut down?

You'd get 60 days' notice, an export of all your content, and a list of recommended alternatives. We'd also help you migrate. We're built to last, but we're honest about what would happen if we couldn't.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, with these rules:

• Before we start: 100% refund, no questions asked.
• During build (before preview link sent): 50% refund — covers the time we've spent on intake and initial setup.
• After preview link sent: no refund, but we'll keep working through revisions until you're happy. We don't ship sites we're not proud of.

What if my site goes down?

We monitor uptime 24/7 (currently averaging 99.99%). If something breaks, we usually have it fixed before you notice. Email hello@weauto.org if you ever see something off — we'll respond within an hour during business hours.

Where is my site hosted?

On Vercel's global edge network — your site is served from Sydney for Australian visitors (sub-50ms response times). It's the same hosting infrastructure used by major Australian companies and Y Combinator startups.

Is my site secure?

Yes. SSL certificates auto-issued and auto-renewed. No CMS surface area to hack (unlike WordPress). DDoS protection at the edge. You don't need to think about it.

Will my site show up on Google?

Yes — over 4–8 weeks. We submit your site to Google Search Console at launch, build the schema markup that Google uses for local businesses, and make sure your hours/address/phone are consistent everywhere. For competitive suburbs, we recommend pairing the site with a Google Business Profile listing (free — we'll help you set it up).

Do you do SEO campaigns or paid ads?

Not as a core service — those are different specialties. The site itself is built for search-engine visibility from day one. If you want active SEO or Google Ads, we can refer you to people we trust.
